A Summer Wrap-Up

Lovin' the Zoo!

We had a wonderful (and way too quick!) summer.  We tried to jam pack in as much fun as we could while I had a couple of classes, too.  Our biggest news is that Ava is fully potty trained!  Woot, woot!  I will spare you from the picture of that however, you're welcome, and you can just take my word for it.  M&Ms and nail polish were our best friends.  

We had many zoo trips (family zoo passes are TOTALLY worth it!) and lots of fun with friends.  The pictures really speak for themselves.  A few updates on Ava and off we go…

Ava is 2 and a half and every bit of terrible twos when she is at home.  (You'd never know it from other people which is good…but it's hard for others to imagine that sweet little face isn't always so sweet.  Haha!)  She got her big girl bed and started preschool.  She is in love with Star Wars, Frozen and Rio.  Ava likes going to "Old McDonald's" and says her favorite food is, "ronis and macaroni and cheeses are my best food because they're in my belly and you need to buy some more".  This girl talks up a storm all the time, most sentences have a couple "becauses"in them, too.  Ava is so inquisitive and loves to know about EVERYTHING (usually asking the same questions over again - maybe the answers will change, who knows!) and is fascinated with the way things work.  She loves to color (her favorite colors are purple and pink - consistently for a couple of weeks, too!), write her name, "play chalk", paint and "play sand."  Ava sings songs, "reads" stories, and loves to cook in her kitchen.  She is constantly on the go and it is difficult to get her to sleep - she doesn't want to miss a thing.  One of my favorite things is that she is sweet and caring to her friends, she is always very concerned with they are upset and asks for them and how to help them.  (At least she's sweet to someone, right?  Seriously though, she is a good girl - just knows how to push our buttons at home! Haha!)  She is every bit of a little girl and no part of baby anymore - I don't even see the toddler anymore.  It is simultaneously heartbreaking and triumphant all at once.  Enough mushy…on with the pictures of fun!  And boy is there a lot of fun to show! (They are a bit out of order and I am not going to even attempt to reorder that craziness - formatting nightmare!)
