Ava's 2nd Birthday…Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

Birthday Girl
Ava Claire is 2!  I can't even believe it!  We took our girl's love for all things Sesame and used that for her birthday theme this year.  We did a smaller party this year with a few close play group friends.  It wouldn't be complete without her Sesame friends though.  :)

Brought to you by the Letter A and Number 2!

It was a wonderful day spent with friends.  We think Ava enjoyed herself, so that's all that matters.  We had cupcakes and cakes from AnnMarie once again.  You guys, she does an incredible job.  All of those character faces were hand-piped chocolate.  The batter matched the color of the character and had sprinkles to match underneath the character as well.  Ava's special cake had the characters along the side and the cute Ava Street sign on top.  Her batter was rainbow colors again, which I love!

The favors had a Sesame theme, too (of course). :)  I put the crayon characters I made in there (many thanks to my peelers, Scott and Marjie) along with a coloring book, a Sesame sticker, bracelet, ruler, fun money, a few other funt things and a pin.  Scott surprised us by ordering little pin buttons with all the characters on them to go in the bags!

The food and snacks turned out great, too!  A big thank you to Katie and Marjie for making the cute fruit and veggie monsters!  They turned out just the way I pictured.  :)  That's always the hardest for me, having some image in my head and never quite living up to it…case in point the cookies.  Overall they turned out pretty well but I got a little impatient with some of the icing so it was a bit goopy.  It's a win in my book though because you can tell who the characters actually are!

The kiddos spent their time with games and toys.  There were a few stations: Feed Cookie (a bag toss), Dorothy's Pond (a fishing game) and Elmo's Crayons (coloring!).  I think it was just enough to keep them all busy and having fun.

I had so much fun planning this!  I only hope that Ava had as much fun during the party as I did prepping for it.  Thank you so much to all who helped and had fun with us!

Thank you!!
