Apple Picking Time!

Ava's first apple she picked on her own
We went apple picking last weekend at Royal Oak.  Scott and I had been there before and really liked it, so we wanted Ava to experience it too.  She had a great time.  It was a beautiful day, not too warm.  The only negative part of the whole day were all the bees that were feasting off of the apples on the ground.  We steered clear and had a wonderful day though!  Ava's apple was not the prettiest or ripest but she was proud of it.  :)

No trip anywhere would be complete without her rocks

Her new game was put them in Dada's pocket and then get them out

Ava, of course, is happy anywhere that she can find rocks.  (And there were a ton waiting in line to get in!)  Getting her to forget about them when we had apple picking ahead of us was a bit of a challenge.  I finally was able to pacify her by showing her how to put them in her own pockets.  They stayed there for the remainder of the day.
She wasn't so sure about the tractor

"All done!"

Getting Ava to actually pick the apples was more difficult than we thought.  She would reach for them and then say "Push" while we were saying "Pull", it took a bit for her to get the hang of it.

Finding a good one

Ava's favorite part of the apple picking - throwing them in the bag

Once she learned that we don't take the ones off the ground she seemed to like going into the trees.  She went after her first apple and it took her a bit to actually get it.  It was adorable, she pulled and pulled.

Success!
We even got her to take a couple of "tastes" of the apple.  By tastes I mean she would lick the inside and then push it towards our mouths for us to eat it.

The highlight of the day definitely came when we went to visit the petting zoo.  The goats were the best and Ava loved them!  We must've fed them at least 6 handfuls of food and we could have easily done more.  Ava was thrilled each time and we loved watching her giggle with delight.

She started trying to pet it like she does Scooter - she leaned in for a kiss too!

Fed the alpacas too

Feeding the sheep
Ava loves saying animal sounds and knows them pretty well.  Sheep is one that she does often however upon seeing the sheep in real life she kept mooing at it.  Haha!  It was cracking us up!

When we were finally done with all of the feeding Ava was so confused as to why the goats didn't want anything to do with her anymore.  That's where her calling them started.  Then the sheep in the background baaaaa-ed and she stopped in her tracks...and then mooed at it again.

My favorites

In Dada's arms is the best place to be

"Goooooaaaat!"

We had such a fabulous day.  I love all that fall brings with it, especially experiencing it with Ava now.  We are so blessed!
